Before I leave

Good Sunday morning Anna :)

I should be doing many things like moving things into the car but I wanted to do a special post to congratulate Emily and Will as newlyweds! I would love to share some photos with you of the beautiful  couple but to respect their privacy I'll save them for FB once I sort through them.

I had a marvellous time and I told Alicia that it felt as if I was there for everyone's wedding that I missed whilst I was gone. I felt incredibly blessed to have these people in my life and the night ended on such a high that I woke up this morning wishing I could experience the love and joy all over again rather than pack for the move.

I ADORED the flowers in the recycled jars, long seating arrangement and outdoor setting. All ideas I will keep in mind...

And how can I forget? The PHOTOBOOTH! I love the simplicity and effectiveness of black and white photos.

Making ourselves home with our little collection
Fifi and I. My other single lady :)
My next post will be from Narrogin. Here's to the next chapter!

Valentine's Day rewind

Aren't you a lucky ducky Anna? That is a very clever card Kev made you :) Proven skills for a surgeon right there. I'm glad my card was to your liking too. Hallmark has nothing on us Kev! Plus I can't believe how expensive cards can be! $9.99 for a bit of diamantes and embossing? Hrm...

So it's Valentines and it's been a lonnnnng while since I've had anything close to a romantic one. However today was romantic thanks to you and some fro yo :D Love our fro yo dates even if it's for a short while.

My love
We LOVE fro yo!
Is it strange that I'm getting my jollies from hearing and seeing what people do for Valentine's? I was driving and I saw a man with a dozen helium love hearty balloons that he was trying to contain inside a huge plastic bag. He was also trying to catch the bus! I hope the lucky lady was delighted by them. If only I could find out...

I'd best describe my previous Valentine's Day as adventurous and fun! I managed to cross off two things I've always wanted to do.  Learn to surf and test out the buoyancy in the Dead Sea.

Valentine's  2012
On this day I enjoyed my new addiction to flat bread and hummus for breakfast with Lauren in Amman, Jordan.

Then on our way to Petra, we stopped by the Dead Sea and were thrilled to bits how buoyant we were.

Valentine's 2011

On this day I woke up ridiculously early for my third day of surfing lessons in Bali.
I don't know if I ever mentioned my hot surf instructor Ketut. Yes as in 'Ketut and Rhonda'. Except of course this Ketut is exceptionally good looking. Waking up at 5am has has never been that easy!

Lastly, isn't this cute?

Oh and I love Google's interactive banner. I've been clicking to see how the animals would celebrate their Valentine's! Funny stuff.

Xing Nian Kuai Le!

Hi Anna :)

Have you ever eaten or made konnyaku jelly?
I made it for the first time the other day for Chinese New Year. It comes in a packet and it really was simple to make. I suppose you can't really go wrong when all you're doing is boiling contents from a sachet and pouring it into a mould. I added red colouring and a tin of longans for a bit of CNY flamboyance.

Konnyaku jelly, where have you been all my life?

Apart from the eating, I thought it was a good idea to get out and see the CNY fair in Northbridge. It was a scorching day and we didn't last long in the heat. Ended up trying out desserts in MeetFresh which turned out to be a better idea.

Curious kids.
Dashes of red for luck. Welcoming the Year of the Snake. Another one of my maxi skirts.
Adorable little girl getting her ang bao from Chai Shen Yeh. (I think that's how you say it. He's the god of wealth?  Good grief, I need to brush up on my culture) I use to have little wooden shoes when I was about her age and mine had little bells inside the heels that jingle. Hers look like they could too!
New Year costume parade. I saw a mixture of Vietnamese and Chinese costumes. I'm unsure which country the two males far left is representing.

I am not surprised at all that you spent your weekend at the beach. Only you would be skilled enough to capture yourself and maneuver on your board. I went to the beach on Saturday too and was stung by jellies. However I refused to get out  until a much larger jelly got me and pretty much wrapped it's tentacles across my upper thigh. Now I have these ghastly red welts on my legs and photos to prove it, but wouldn't be very nice for the world wide web to see.

I'm impressed with how committed you are with your exercising and I hope you have a relaxing week :)
